ASRC is the place to go if you want your children to make some new friends, gain some new social skills and just be themselves. We know what it is like - it is great to know that neither you nor your child's behavior will be judged. We just want the kids to have some fun and for the parents to connect.
Our kids on the spectrum do things together such as movie and pizza nights, Bingo nights, bowling, kite flying, and swimming. We are always open to suggestions. Siblings and family members are always invited, as they are usually patient and kind, in addition to being good role models for our kids.
We also have parent/caregiver potlucks so you can get your questions answered, and possibly be a resource for another family. Some of the best information and support come from other parents. Adults on the Spectrum are also invited to join these activities.
Monthly young adult groups are also held to help the person on the spectrum transition to adult living.
To sign up, go to the meetup site (attached link). Join meetup first, and then hit the "Join Us" button. We look forward to meeting you!
